Here you will see the progress of Japan, as well as its culture.

Tokyo is the capital of Japan. and its other major metropolitan cities are Yokohama, Osaka and Kyoto. Tokyo, the capital of Japan, is one of the most developed cities in the world. Tokyo, the birthplace of Kabuki and Pokémon, Sumo and the mobile phone, is a fusion of Eastern and Western civilizations. The old name of Tokyo is Edo which was changed to Tokyo in 1868 AD. In the same year it was made the capital of Japan instead of Kyoto. By the way, the political importance of Tokyo had increased only when Tokugawa Leyasu formed his feudal government here in 1603 AD. The earthquake of 1923 AD and the war of 1945 AD caused great damage to this city. But today Tokyo has recovered from these shocks and is moving ahead in the field of tourism.

History of Japan – Japan History Chinese inscription dated 57 AD. It describes a visit to China by a politician who had come from an island in the East . Gradually, political and cultural relations were established between the two countries. At that time the Japanese practiced a polytheistic religion consisting of many gods. Buddhism reached Japan through China in the 6th century. Buddhism did not destroy the old beliefs, but the main religion remained Buddhism.

According to Shinto beliefs, when a king dies, the subsequent ruler will build his capital at a different place than before. This belief was abandoned after the advent of Buddhism. In 710 AD the king made his permanent capital in a city called Naura . By the end of the century it was transferred to a city called Haira , which was later renamed Kyoto. In 910, the Japanese ruler Fujiwara distanced himself from the political power of Japan. It was completely different from its contemporary Indian, European and Islamic regions where the head of power was also the head of power. The rule of this dynasty lasted till the end of the eleventh century. In the eyes of many, this period was the golden age of Japanese civilization.

In the thirteenth century, Kublay Khan emerged as the greatest emperor of Central Asia, whose empire extended to Persia, the Balkans in the west and China and Korea in the east. In 1281, Kublay Khan invaded Japan. At this time he has about 1,50. 000 soldiers and he reached the southwest coast of Japan. After two months of fierce fighting, the Japanese had to retreat. Slowly Kublay Khan's army pushed the Japanese in and almost the whole of Japan was conquered by Kublay Khan. But in the meantime a severe storm came in Japan. The ships standing on the shores of the Mongols were badly damaged and they started running back after getting distracted. After this the remaining Mongol boys were mercilessly slaughtered by the Japanese and Kublay Khan was killed. This victory of the Japanese proved to be decisive, and before the Second World War, no foreign army had set foot on Japanese soil. These storms benefited the Japanese so much that a term named after them became very popular in Japan – kamikaze, which literally means – supernatural wind.

In the sixteenth century, Portuguese merchants and missionaries from Europe initiated trade and cultural rapprochement with the Western world in Japan. The Japanese people liked the gunpowder and weapons of the European countries very much. European powers also propagated Christianity. Christianity first arrived in Japan in 1549. Christianity became as popular in Japan as Buddhism in the seventh century. At that time it was not necessary that this new religious sect would be completely different from the old one. But the preachers of Christianity surprised the people a little by saying that in order to accept Christianity, they would have to give up their other religions. Although this seemed a bit strange to the Japanese, the number of Christians gradually increased.

By 1615 AD, about half a million people in Japan had converted to Christianity. In 1615 the samurai chieftain, the shogunte, suspected that European merchants and missionaries were, in fact, the forerunners of a military and political hegemony over Japan. He imposed strict restrictions on foreigners and limited their trade to an artificial island (near Nagasaki). Christianity was banned and persecution and murder against Christians continued for almost 25 years. In 1638, eventually, the remaining 37,000 Christians were besieged on an island near Nagasaki who were later massacred.

Japan again established trade relations with Western countries in 1854. Japan needed natural resources to handle its growing industrial potential, for which it invaded China in 1894–95 and Russia in 1904–1905. Japan defeated Russia in the Russo-Japanese War. This was the first time an Asian nation had conquered a European power. Japan sided with the Axis powers in World War II , but in 1945, Japan surrendered after the US dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Since then, Japan has strengthened itself as an economic power and now its name is counted among the leading nations in technical fields.

After the adoption of the new constitution in 1947, Japan maintained a unitary constitutional monarchy with a ruler. Japan is also a member of the United Nations, G-7, G-8 and G-20 and is known as a superpower. The economy of this country is the third largest economy in the world by GDP rate and the third largest economy in the world by PPP. In addition, Japan is also the world's fourth largest exporter and fourth largest importer. Education is given more importance in Japan and today Japan is compared among the highest educated countries.
